Bulls Come Crashing Down
The Bulls (26-10) are in Dallas to take on the Mavericks (21-18) and the Bulls looking for their 10th straight win! Coming into it the Bulls have no fresh injury concerns and the Mavs see the return of key player Luka Doncic.
1st Quarter - Bulls look like they're still on the plane to start as the Mavs race into a 10-2 lead. However the Bulls take an 11-10 lead with 6:55 left. After the Mavs started 10-2, a timeout from Billy Donovan sees the Bulls then go 30-12. 1st quarter ends Bulls 32 - 22 Mavs.
DeRozan 6 pts
White 5 pts
Kleber 6 pts
Doncic 3 pts
2nd Quarter - Bulls come out frustrating Doncic, causing him to flop around far too much. But the Mavs get it together and close the lead to 4 forcing another Donovan timeout with 4 mins left in the half. Half ends with a close score of Bulls 55-54 Mavs.
LaVine 14 pts
White 11 pts
DeRozan 10 pts, 4 assists
Kleber 9 pts
Hardaway Jr 9pts
Vucevic was having a mixed game for Bulls with a line of 9pts, 3rebs 4/10FGs (1/3 3s). Bulls will certainly be hoping for a return to the 1st quarter form after being outscored in the 2nd 32-23.
3rd Quarter - A frustrating 3rd from the Bulls, getting in a lot of foul trouble after Doncic's earlier crying to the officials seems to have worked. Bulls seem to be struggling with their shot, particularly DeRozan and Vucevic. 3rd quarter finishes 83-79, Bulls outscored in the quarter again 29-24. LaVine, DeRozan, Vucevic through three quarters: 17-of-46 (36.9%)
4th Quarter - 3s are killing the Bulls in this quarter. They just don't seem to have an answer to the Mavs shots and pick-and-roll and they find themselves down 14 with 6.30 left on the clock. Donovan empties the bench and the Bulls end up losing 113-99 and the streak ends at 9. LaVine and DeRozan score 20 points each. Coby White chips in with 13 off the bench but Luka Doncic logged a 22-14-14 triple-double. Dallas outscores the Bulls in the second half 59-44.
A poor night from the Bulls. The D just couldn't cope when the Mavs got going and the offence was poor all night. Once they let Luka Doncic get going it seemed like a case of sit back and watch. This is one game the Bulls will want to forget for sure.
NEXT UP: They go again Tuesday against the Pistons.
